Great food lovely atmosphere. The staff could smile more and it's pricey.UPDATE OCT 2018. The last 3 visits have been poor. Had to send Lasagne back, had to send a burger back. There has been a lot of staff and management changes and I'm afraid it's not for the better. This has been a regular meeting place for me and my mother for many years. We have decided to try elsewhere next time.UPDATE 6th DECEMBER 2018....We returned for my Mother's birthday and I am delighted to say everything was brilliant! I had the most amazing 'pie of the day' and it was smiles all round. I do think the menu's could do with a refresh but apart from that we are back to 5 stars. Many thanks!
This restaurant is superb. I ordered some food from them on a weekday lunchtime. When I tasted my meal I was extremely disappointed and in fact couldn''t eat it. The waitress noticed that I had hardly eaten any and came and asked me if everything was OK. I commented that the meal was not as nice as the rest of that we had ordered. They did no more than immediately refund me the cost of the meal without objection. The rest of our meal was of a very high standard and as good as we normally get so we had no real complaints. We were not going to complain about my meal had it not been for the eagle eyed staff who came to our aid. An excellent place for eating out and very courteous and kind staff. Thank you
Last time here,was a Sunday lunch time, when the carvery was just about over, so it was a case of take whatever is left? (And it was quite poor! ) but today ordered the Sausage & mash and it was excellent! Hot & very tasty!
